Kaytren's personal journal contains thousands of audio, text, or holo-vid entries spanning decades. Her journal files are private, but coded to become accessible by select individuals upon her death. Even then, numerous entries are locked to require particular levels of security or personal clearance.

(ooc) Many of these entries were first penned years ago; with occasional edits and new additions along the way. Her IC memories of numerous characters and collaboratively written events are referenced many times. Especially for these cases, credit and thanks go to the original writers of those characters/scenes. Also - A lot of the IC dates are guestimates. ;)

::Hi. Master Tomais says I'm s'posed to keep adding to this at least like one time a week, even when I don't know what to talk about. It's for building good habits and stuff, like all the lightsaber practices for remembering better all the time even when I know how to do almost all the Shii Cho moves now. Oh, I made a really good Sai yesterday when we were practicing! Master said so! We've been on Pzz..Pzob for a few days and it's kind of boring here... There are mostly Gamorreans and Master Tomais said I'm s'posed to remember to be very polite all the time. Even when they smell a little funny... ...Um, nevermind, and I still like them! The babies are so cute. We're here to help with an argument between two of the clans. Its mostly talking and long, long, long, meetings. I have to be patient and listen all day. But I get to play in the trees too. I'm s'posed to keep practicing and stuff because it's safe and there's time — and the trees here are so huge and cool! I found a spot by the roots of one of them that's all curled up out of the hill like a tree cave. It's perfect to sit and do lessons and I like the feeling of touching them. Okay, I'm gonna go... Force be with you!::

::'Transitory' means that something only lasts for a little bit. I mean... Or maybe even a long time. But it means something has an end. Or that it doesn't stay the same from the first thing into the next thing. Master Tomais said to look it up because I wasn't sure. We talked about a lesson from Suren.. Surenit Kilc..:: (A quiet giggle sound.) ::Okay. I can't say his name. But it was Surenit K-i-l'-q-i-y and he was a Knight, and he said something like that there's supposed to be truth in our hearts and.. Wait a second. I'll just read it. Okay — here: 'Let there be truth between your heart and the Force. All else is transitory.'

So, Master Sur-Surenit wrote that. We talked about it today. It means we think about the Force, because that's what Jedi do. But we especially don't lie to it or us about anything... and we do what we know inside that we're supposed to... And that when we know we're being Good, that everything else is trans.. transitory. And temporary. The rest of stuff is not as important, even when we think maybe it is. Plus, too, that the Force is forever — for lots longer than any of us are. I like that.::

::It’s less scary now, but I'm still worried about it. Master Jaden said not to overthink yet. I know Master Tomais would say 'Take a breath and use your head', but that's still hard and stuff! Things didn't go the way they were planned at all. But tomorrow I’ll be Aliah again and Master Jaden's Padawan, Cho.. Or wait, no, I mean Keto.. I think? I’m confused which name he uses.

Anyway, we're going back to the compound to see if they'll let me visit Master Tomais. I was his 'niece' again this time, remember? We got inside the trade circle okay and it was kind of fantastic at first because I was supposed to roll my eyes the smuggler captain—I love being undercover—but then I think one of them figured it out.. Probably in the third week, I think? I'm not sure, but that's when everything started to feel weird. Then three days ago Master Tomais went to one of the meetings and he didn't come back. It was scary. Cho and Master Jaden—he's Rodian. Not Cho; he's something near-human. They landed yesterday after I used the code Master Tomais told me. And they have a plan.. But I'm not going to talk about that just in case.. Master Jaden said this room should be fine, but I don't want it to be bugged like Rishi that time… That was bad. So.. goodnight..::

::So. I killed a vole today. I was working with the Betha ivy, timing how fast I could mature it with the new toxin, and it got in the way. I must have startled it from wherever it was. It ran straight into the brambles while I was growing them. And, that’s that. I might have been able to help it if it was larger, but at that concentration it was too small. I’ll be more careful.

I buried it. Do small rodents go to the Force? That sounded weird, but I mean really? What about the tiny insects we step on without knowing they're there. Or just the animals we eat? Plants? Everything is part of everything, so of course they must; but I still feel bad. If I feel so bad about the vole accident… Then what about people I directly kill? With this, or with anything else. I mean; I’d rather disable them. But I’m bound to kill someone eventually. I don't think I would turn into a very good Jedi if I didn't know that.

I know it's part of why we fight with lightsabers so much. Yes, vines aren’t lightsabers… but I can feel them. It’s the same idea: that the killing we do is right in front of us. Master and I talked about it a couple of weeks ago. Lightsabers are labeled 'civilized’… Not because they don't cause much blood, but they make us think. When we have to fight we're right there, and the other person is close enough to touch, talk to. They're people. How much more easy would it be to just shoot someone the way the bounty hunter's do it? No. If I have to take somebody's life away from them someday, then I'm going to look at his face afterwards. And probably cry? Not right away I’d hope, but later. But for me to kill someone it has to matter that much that I could look at them afterwards.. and even during.. and know that it wasn't the wrong thing. There has to be that much reason.

I started working on my lightsaber the other day.::

::Keto and I are leaving for Hypori. There’s been a huge spike in droideka production with the Mk-3 upgrades, so we’ll dig into that to find out who for and why. Easy enough. I'm excited. But anyway—this was funny, but a little awkward. Master Tomais told us to behave. Oi. Really? And then Master Jaden chuckled over the comm. I mean, it's a little hard to tell with Rodians sometimes, but I’m pretty sure that was a teasing chuckle. But anyway, and then Master Jaden warned Keto on the comm when he didn't know I was in the room, and I was, like… It was so weird! Even though it was kind of funny, too. And he's.. okay.. kinda cute. But come on! He's a Knight now, and this is a mission. We love our masters, obviously. So whatever; it’s all fine and they can have their fun. I think they’re just wistful that we’re grownup. Which is probably fair, I suppose.

Anyway, Keto says I won't like Hypori. He’s right. It's a foundry world. There's no green at all. Yuck. But a mission's a mission. Besides, it definitely can't be any worse than Nar Shadda. Right? Okay... I'm going go sleep now. We need to get an early start. Goodnight Beth... and whoever's theoretically listening. Force be with you..::
