Hello Darkness My Old Friend

Post by Adrian Lynd »

Glowing red eyes, black tactical clothing and boots to match, the young man stood there twirling his left saber menacingly as it hummed through the air. His right one was perfectly still, blade at a angle to floor in front of him. His dark hair blew slightly in the wind. He stared at the young man in front of him, trying to see into his soul. The Sith apprentice had not faced this opponent before or any like him.

The two young men stood alone in a room enveloped in pure darkness, yet both of them were almost perfectly illuminated as they stood there. The floor was polished to a near mirrored finish, the walls were matte but just as equally dark and forbidding. Everything about this environment seemed other worldly to both young men, both of whom had seen their fair share of the galaxy, yet this was completely different. Completely unique to the both of them in a way that made them feel both uneasy.

There was sound, the sound of their lightsabers of course, two red and one blue humming in the air, one whirling around at a higher pitch while the other two sat still for a long moment. Yes there were these sounds, but there were others as well. The was a dark ominous whispering sound of what could be nature lurking just beyond the walls, the creaking sound of some forest that permeated the air, but it was faint and barely there. What was more present and more noticeable was the sound of their breathing, Adrian could of course hear his own, which was unusual unless he was focused on it in a deep dark meditation, but he could also hear the breathing of the Jedi standing several feet away from him, what was more unsettling was that he felt he could hear his own blood coursing through his veins. It was so surreal that he his eyes had to dart around the room to check to see if all of this was real or was just a vivid hallucination.

He drew his breath in, feeling the cold air enter his nostrils and the warm air exiting it, he heard his heart start beating louder and louder. He shook his head and narrowed his red eyes, he took an aggressive stance and stared at his Jedi opponent.

"Enough of this posturing. We're both warriors, lets do this."

Adrian lunged at this opponent striking high with his right blade and moving his left low and to the side, both seemingly moving at blinding speed in opposite directions from one another coming together to form a lightning quick and potentially lethal strike, the right blade crashed into the blue lightsaber as his opponent, the left blade was redirected with a kick to his hand but he smelled burned flesh and grinned.

"You're such a dissapointment."

The sensations and sounds were all foreign to him as well, so was the ominous darkness of the room that both of them found themselves standing in. His purple eyes glanced across the room at his opponent, both red blades glowing, one spinning. He was an imposing force to be reckoned with. His silhouette in and of itself was intimidating, his aura was cool and dark, it felt incredibly dangerous, as if it was that of a seasoned Sith Lord three time's the young man's age standing across from him. Yet there he was the same age as Julian, whose purple Padawan braid flew to the side as he turned his head and locked onto the young Sith with an intent stare. He noticed the aggressive posture of his opponent, Djem So? He wasn't entirely sure, two blades made it trickier to discern. Soresu was Julian's best first option and then he could adapt from there.

"I'm always ready to stand in the way of the likes of you."

The young Sith lunged at him viciously but he was ready for the attack, but there was a catch. He underestimated slightly what Adrian was capable of and what he was going to do. He blocked the first strike up high and parried the red blade away in a violent clash, as he did this he kicked Adrian's left wrist and almost knocked the hilt clean from his hand, but the very tip of the blade sliced just barely through Julian's robes and burned his skin below his right ribcage as he leaned back trying to avoid it. He winced slightly but locked his purple eyes of his opponent as he took a step back and stood defensively daring the young Sith to make the next move.

"That's funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you.

Adrian's face contorted in anger as he lashed out feverishly at Julian who expertly blocked each attack in blindingly fast fashion. The clashes of their blades echoed through the room, the ambient sounds of their breathing and the background noise of the room itself still lingered as Julian absorbed a final blow and Adrian left himself open. Julian moved forward and went for the kill shot at Adrian's open neck. At the very last moment both red blades came up and deflected Julian's single blue blade away....mostly. The tip of which had caught Adrian in the chin as it flew away.

Both opponents backed off from one another.

"Still disappointed?"
"I'm just a Jedi."
