A Normal Day

Finishing the last of his tea he smiled and cracked his neck. He tied his dirty blonde hair neatly into a bun and threw his black elegant overcoat on, the ornate gold thread accenting the seams. The younger Sephi was in a relatively good mood this morning and taking the air in the city of Theed sounded exactly like what he needed this fine day.

He stepped outside of his cottage, the warm glow of the sun shining through the trees and hugged his flesh like a warm embrace from a long missed friend. He smiled and retrieved his sun glasses from his inside jacket pocket. Serving two purposes, he often wore them when the sun was not a problem, especially when undercover or not wanting to draw too much attention to himself. Not that his attire and elven ears were anything to not stare at. However his naturally red eyes were something that inspired fear in the masses whilst in public, this could come in handy more often than one might think, but it could also cause one to mistrust him. Occasionally he wore contact lenses that altered the appearance of his eyes, but they were bothersome.

His glasses were equally as elegant and ornate as his overcoat, silver frames, with dark blue lenses and matching side shades. Sameal was a credit to his race in terms of sophistication and class, if nothing else.

He sat down in his speeder and was on his way.

Upon reaching the city he parked his speeder in one of the many pay lots available to civilians and hopped out and stood up. The sun was warm today and perhaps the overcoat was not the greatest idea, but it along with his long shirt hid his lightsaber well enough that no one would guess he was armed. Not that he needed to be armed in a place like this, he was unlikely to meet a Ji'dai or another Sith here, perhaps at the council of knowledge.

What a quaint name. The council of knowledge. In it's heyday he may have enjoyed visiting there, corrupting a young Padawan or two, then using them as a pawn. He smirked, that would be great fun. Then of course showing one's self in a place like that as a Sith Lord was reckless on a level he could not fathom. ALL of the Ji'dai would know who you were, they would know your face and hiding in plain sight would be impossible. What kind of Sith exposes himself in such a way??

His mind drifted towards Jaxon, a small twinge plucked at the single heart string he had. The young Jedi was talented and he had indeed grown fond of him as a potential friend, it was a shame he had to be sacrificed for the cause, he would have made an excellent Sith and that much was apparent to Sameal. As he strolled the streets he thought about it, how would he have converted Jaxon? Jaxon was in love with him and the only way that seemed that would work is to use that love to further lure him towards the dark side, but that meant continuing the romantic and sexual relationship with him, which of course presented a problem. Sameal was not homosexual and while he would do what he needed to do for the mission, continuing in a same sex relationship with Jaxon was not something he'd enjoy and as a Sith, there is no reason to make a sacrifice like that. It was a moot point anyway. Jaxon was dead and a small part of Sameal hoped that he died well and relatively free of pain, but thinking about this further served no purpose.

He was hungry he stopped at a merchant and paid for a pastry. It was then that he heard tears and felt something tugging at his coattails.

Mr...Mr... I can't find my Mommy....*snort* Help....help me please.

Sameal turned, pastry in hand and looked down at a little girl, her face stained with tears, but he noticed something with her, her eyes were two different colors. He contemplated removing his glasses so that she could see his but resolved that it would scare her away.

He knelt down in front of her and offered her a warm smile.

"There there, no reason to fret. She can't have gone far. My name is Sam, what's yours little one?"

*She sniffled and held her hand out to shake his.* "I....I'm Sarah and..."

Sameal took her and in his and knelt down and kissed it gently meeting her gaze.

"Enchanted to meet you Sarah. You must be of royalty, are you princess?"

*She smiled through tears.* "My daddy calls me Princess."

"It's settled then. Your Royal Highness Princess Sarah, I am at your service to assist you in locating your Mother. Can you tell me where you last saw her and what she looks like?"

He motioned for the merchant who approached him.

"Summon the authorities sir, let them know of the situation and that I will be walking with young Princess on my shoulders searching for her mother."

The merchant nodded and returned to his stand to call the authorities.

*She couldn't help but giggle despite the situation, she had never been greeted or addressed in such a way before.* "I...she's tall, with blonde hair like yours and....was wearing I think her light blue shirt and...I don't know what pants."

Sameal nodded.

"An excellent description your Highness. We shall find her in no time. Allow me to carry you up on my shoulders so that you may see through the crowd and spot your Mother, despite your excellent description you will of course recognize her before I ever shall."

He extended his hand and she grabbed it. He hoisted her carefully on his shoulders and wrapped his arms around her legs to keep her steady and they began their search. The two talked back and forth, getting to know each other quite well for several minutes. Some city police officers stopped them and Sameal answered questions as did young Sarah and then finally.

"MOMMY!!"

The young girl shouted as the woman who looked....somewhat like what young Sarah had described sprinted over to see her daughter....a look of concerned parental fear over her face as she was being carried by a strangely dressed Sephi. Sameal turned and knelt down before her allowing her to scoop young Sarah off of his shoulders and into her arms. The city police officer that followed behind nodded and kept his distance for only a moment.

"Maddam, I was assisting the young Princess in locating you, I know it must have given you quite the fright seeing her with a strange man carrying her on his shoulders, but it was to offer her the best vantage point and it appears to have worked. Forgive my manners, in all this fuss I have forgotten to introduce myself. My name is Sam, I hope you do not mind but I had purchased a pastry and gave it to young Sarah to calm her as we searched for you."

The mother's sense of fear faded as her daughter was once again in her arms. She reasoned that Sam, was an eccentric if nothing else and harmless, but none of that mattered. He took good care of Sarah and brought her back.

"Thank you Sir, I am grateful that you took good care of her and brought us back together. How can I ever repay you?"

Sameal smiled and stood up.

"Think nothing of it. It was an honor to serve the young Princess. If I may Maddam, a word of advice for young Sarah."

The mother nodded.

"Your Highness, be careful talking to strangers, not everyone you meet is as nice as I am. If this ever happens again, seek out the police instead of a strange man on the street."

Sarah nodded and her mother smiled.

"That all said, it was an honor to meet you princess. I must bid you farewell, enjoy the rest of your day and stay close to your mother, I am sure you gave her the fright of her life."

Sameal bowed elegantly and the Sith Lord strolled off to continue about his day.
