The year is 2330, a pirate by the name of "White Wolf" has been attacking Federation shipping near Beta Barritus. The United Federation of Planets has condemned these acts and has started providing escort vessels when available.

Starfleet has approved upgrades the Excelsior Class of Starships so that they may continue service for many years to come. The last of the famous Constitution Class of Starships are slowly being pressed out of service but some will remain through the Battle of Wolf 359 many years later.

The Treaty of Alliance has bonded the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets in a semi cooperative peace despite heavy interference from the Romulan Star Empire. Federation and Klingon vessels can pass freely through each other's space without fear of interference. However Klingon Vessels traveling through Federation Space were subject to random and routine health and safety inspections.

- In five years time William T. Riker will be born.
- Incomplete Records indicate that Kathryn Janeway will be born in approximately fourteen years.
- The final Cruise of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A took place under James T. Kirk 27 years prior.
- The USS Enterprise NCC 1701-B is currently winding down her career.
- The Romulan Star Empire guards their space and attempts to lure unsuspecting Federation Vessels into the Neutral Zone to instigate conflict.
