A planet once covered entirely by immense cityscapes and vast oceans, Taris is a world whose face has changed much over the course of millennia. Many of the planet's continents still play host to expansive skyscraping metropoli, but many other portions have been reclaimed by nature. Especially in the northern Hemisphere, where the destruction of the Jedi Civil War was never undone, swamps have overtaken the lowland cities, while the more mountainous northern reaches have seen the skeletal remnants of civilization crumble altogether, leaving nature to reclaim.

Even so, Taris thrives on in its own particular ways, and remains a stark picture of metropolitan civilization in the outer rim.
